Give the gift of reading to your child this holiday season! Scholastic books make the perfect stocking stuffer for any child on your list.

We recently read "It's Christmas, David!" and "Captain Sky Blue" and I've purchased more books from their school orders as their stocking stuffers. With two emerging readers in our house and one preschooler who loves to be read to - we could never have too many books. Check out this Scholastic prize pack filled with some of the most popular children's books in the marketplace.

One (1) Winner will receive a gift pack:

  • OOK and GLUK

One comment per family.  Tell me about your favorite holiday book. US only. Giveaway ends Nov 26th, 2010.

Disclosure: I was given books to facilitate this giveaway. All opinions are my own.

Our favorite is the Polar Express and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. They are classics.
We will have to add Wigilia to our shelf too. I'm sure that will be one of our favorites!

Love books as stocking stuffers! Our family favorite is The Night Before Christmas. We used to read it to the kids as part of our Christmas Eve tradition but now the older two can read it to the little guy. We also love Snowmen at Night and Snowmen at Christmas.

I'm going to be a teacher! This spring I graduate! These books would be the perfect addition to my students' library!!

We have a Thanksgiving collection that we read every fall. Really, it's about 5 or 6 books that we don't read individually because my kids LOVE to read about Thanksgiving. But ONE of them that caters to little kids is called "What's Thanksgiving?" with a little mouse and pockets to open and such. Very cute.
# mommymo 2010-11-22 10:11
Since we have a toddler, our favorite are counting and animal books. Our favorite christmas one is "10 trim the tree'ers" - and that's the only one we have so we'd love to add to our collection.
# Jessica 2010-11-22 10:31

# Natalee 2010-11-22 14:02
My son is only two so this is the first year he seems to really be excited about the holidays. So far he seems to love Santa's Suit and the Polar Express.
# DE heather 2010-11-22 14:10
The Chicken made me a Christmas book in 2nd grade. It was crazy and far fetched about traditions that we do (that we really don't) and she didn't include any of the traditions that we have because they were (and I quote) not nearly as cool and inventive as the stuff she thought of and my friends all thought we were very cool too.

So now each year we read it and laugh and adore her imagination.
# Courtney Degnan 2010-11-22 14:24
What a fun giveaway! My two and a half year old just LOVES books! Our three favorites are The Polar Express, The Elf on the Shelf, and The Night Before Christmas...we just cleared out our book bin to fill it up with all Christmas stories and it looks rather empty! Ha! This gift pack would fill it up so nicely! Thank you!
# sarah m 2010-11-22 14:57
