|In true "Classy Chaos" style, today wasn't Thursday.|

I realized today was Wednesday at about 5:15 in the evening.
That was after a twenty minute discussion with the director of our tennis club, by my side were two eager players whom were ready to hit the courts. "Your kids aren't on the class list." "But, my husband was here on the first day of sign-ups in July." "I don't see them on the list." "But, I got an email stating our class schedules." "I'm sorry, but you aren't registered for classes today." "You don't understand, my husband was told to register for classes on Thursday because that's the only day my daughter isn't swimming and I can't fathom why we would pick another day for tennis."
"Ma'am... today is Wednesday."
"You mean like Wednesday when I'm supposed to be at gymnastics and swim team carpool and not like Thursday when I'm doing back-to-back tennis lessons and violin class?" "All I know is that today is Wednesday. Would you like me to double check tomorrow's class list?" "Yes. Please." "You are registered for two kid's tennis lessons tomorrow." "Thanks so much. I feel awful for wasting your time. We'll try this again tomorrow. Heehee."
Why do after school activities always start after a Monday off? It happened to me last year, this exact time, when I missed swim team tryouts and instead appeared at swim team registration. I saw the look in my daughter's eyes last year and saw the same look in Jay's and Feenie's eyes this year. They were stoked for tennis all day long, but I got the day wrong which meant that they couldn't play tennis today; but also, it meant that Feenie didn't attend her first gymnastics class (which was scheduled for Wednesday) and Lola missed out on her swim team practice. Because today was Wednesday and not Thursday.
First world problems. I know. I. Know.
I threw in the towel. Literally. Exhausted from the overwhelming triple-booked calendar that still makes no logistic sense to me on this first week of the-back-to-back-activities schedule that we call Fall - I called some friends last minute and celebrated playing ditch from every planned activity we had on Wednesday, or was it Thursday?
Because this is what memories are made of. Communal meals and pool time.
I will try and tackle our crazy schedule next week. Don't try to tell me that my children are over-booked unless you've actually spent some time with them. Do you see that burrito in Feenie's face? She's double trouble when not triple booked.
PSA to all the parents out there with multiple elementary school aged kids in activites... today is Thursday. You are welcome. XO
